At T.J. Cottis Transport, we believe that great service starts with strong roots. Founded in 1987 by the late Trevor Cottis, our journey began with a single green Volvo F86 and an unwavering dedication to hard work, integrity, and customer care. What started as one man and one truck has grown into one of Essex’s most recognised and trusted names in haulage, aggregates, waste transfer, and ready-mix concrete.
Trevor’s vision was simple: build a business that delivers more than just materials — deliver reliability, efficiency, and a personal touch you can count on. After his passing in 2013, Trevor’s legacy was proudly carried forward by his family, and today the company is led by his son, Jedd Cottis, as Director.
While our fleet has grown and our services have expanded, our core values have never changed. We are proud to be a family-run business, rooted in community, grounded in experience, and driven by a passion for doing things right. From grab hire and muck away to ready-mix concrete and plant hire, we bring decades of knowledge to every job — with modern, well-maintained vehicles and a team that cares about your project as much as you do.
One of the most touching moments in our company’s history came recently when we welcomed home one of Trevor Cottis original lorries - Jedd Cottis can even remember sitting proudly in the passenger seat, watching his father working hard. It’s not back when it belongs, parked proudly with the newest lorries in the fleet. Serving as a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come, and of the man who started it all.
